Katrina Walker has one wish: to inspire everyone to sew!  No matter what age, experience level or interest, Katrina loves to reach out to sewing enthusiasts everywhere and encourage them to learn, explore, and above all - create!

Katrina is a sewing designer, educator, and author known for her expertise in machine embroidery, construction techniques, textiles, and Modern American Pojagi piecework. She enjoys teaching innovative and alternative construction methods to both garment sewing enthusiasts and quilters. Katrina also conducts Palmer/Pletsch fit workshops at shows and for sewing guilds.

Katrina is well known in the sewing industry. Her creations and expertise are featured in many magazines, including Threads, Stitch, Sew News, SewStylish, and Creative Machine Embroidery. She is a regular instructor at the Houston International Quilt Festival, the Sewing and Stitchery Expo, the STITCHES show series, and at national sewing guild conferences. She is also a popular instructor online, where her highly rated classes with Craftsy, Taunton Workshops, BurdaStyle, and Craft Daily have enrolled thousands of students worldwide. In addition, Katrina has previously worked as a Family and Consumer Sciences educator, as well as in the apparel industry, for Nordstrom Product Group and Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI).

Katrina represents PFAFF sewing machines as a Brand Ambassador, and produces many of the designer garments featured in advertisements for Singer, Husqvarna Viking, and PFAFF. She is thrilled to be a Sulky Sewcialite. She also loves to work with and promote Clover sewing tools and Schmetz needles. It's a tremendous honor to work with these great sewing companies!

In her personal sewing, Katrina specializes in natural textiles, particularly silk and wool. Her love of silk has taken her to Japan to study silk production and textile history. She is a former National Adult winner of the Make it With Wool competition, and raises her own flock of naturally colored sheep, whose fleece and yarn she sells under her label Spoiled Sheep. In addition to sewing, Katrina spins, knits, needle felts, and makes jewelry - and has even been known to do shuttle tatting once in a while.

Katrina is an alumna of Wellesley College.  She has additional education in Textile Science, Fashion Theory, and Patternmaking, and is a Palmer/Pletsch Certified Fit Instructor.
